TAG Marine recently purchased FV Yong Qing Fa 666 through a court auction free of any claims, liens, or mortgages in Cape Town, South Africa, on Apr 28 2023. TAG Project Team are busy reactivating the vessel.
Currently, our focus is on the Engine Room.
All inspections and maintenance will be carried out once Aux P/STB are up and running, systems are started up and tested, and engineers commission certificates. ***Completed***
In September - October 2023,
All equipment was stowed in the stores and fish hold.
I replaced railings and chipped and painted key areas for the documentary film onboard. New teams are onboard doing mechanical preparations, chipping, grinding, steelwork, undercoating, and painting with a two-year paint system (International or Jotun ***tendering***)
Filming commenced and completed.
November, we moved into the engine room. All major components were stripped, engineered and reassembled.
Bilges pumped and cleaned.
The Day Tanks were pumped and cleaned, and clean fuel was supplied for testing of Aux, Main Engine and systems.
Lighting and power are connected via a 220v power supply.
Port and Stb auxiliary engines were stripped, sent to mechanical & electrical engineering and reassembled. Both were tested at 1200 rpm. The main DB is connected and tested & commissioned.
***The engine room and electrical are online, and all lighting and equipment work, tested and surveyed.
Full project costing and planning in place.
Once completed, we will continue to prepare the steelworks for DD.
